This special concert showcases members of the Colonial Heights High School Band. The PSO will perform entertaining classical and popular music. The concert, sponsored by the City of Colonial Heights, is open to the public free of charge.

The orchestra presents George Frideric Handel's famous Oratorio, joined by the One Voice Chorus of Richmond and outstanding guest soloists.

The Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, coming off a successful Cabaret event on Saturday, February 16, 2019, will perform a free concert on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Beacon Theater in Hopewell, Virginia. The concert, suitably named "A Beacon of Light", will feature a variety of music from a diverse group of composers such as Johannes Brahms, Johann Strauss, Jr., John PHillip Sousa, Serge Prokofiev, Leonard Bernstein, and John Williams, to name a few. For the past four years, the Petersburg Symphony has thrilled the Beacon's audiences with music that crosses many genres and this concert will be no different.

Under the direction of Mr. Ulysses Kirksey, the Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, now in its 41st year, is committed to confirming a permanent musical institution in the City of Petersburg, serving the Tri-Cities Area and surrounding counties for the expression of the talent of its members and for the enjoyment and inspiration of all who delight in participating in an exquisite performing arts experience.

All tickets are $10.  NO TICKETS will be sold at the door. 
Concerts in the fall of 2020 will take place at the
Tabernacle Baptist Church Community Life Center, 418 Halifax Street, Petersburg, 23803. 
 
Concerts will last about 1 hour with no intermission.
Face coverings, temperature checks, and social distancing will be required.
The audience will be seated by ushers in certain seats from front to back to follow COVID health guidelines.
Doors open at 3:15 pm - please arrive by 3:45 pm to be seated.
If this concert is cancelled due to COVID restrictions from the government,
refunds will be issues for the ticket value, but not for the Eventbrite fee (that’s their policy). 
This event is not appropriate for very young children or babies.
The concert video will be available for viewing for two weeks after each concert.
